The Griffith Foundation currently offers Educational presentations at the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) meetings Seminars for Insurance Committee Chairs of state legislatures on the basic principles of risk management and insurance presented in cooperation with NCOIL Seminars for insurance committee members of state legislatures and for newly elected legislators Seminars for Insurance Committee Chairs of state legislatures are intensive two to three-day education programs developed, presented, and completely underwritten by the Griffith Foundation in cooperation with the National Conference of Insurance Legislators. The faculty for the all Foundation seminars are distinguished professors of risk management and insurance at various colleges and universities across the country. Seminars for state legislators who serve on standing committees that work with insurance and related issues are presented by the Grifffith Foundation upon bi-partisan request of legislative leadership. Seminars for newly elected state legislators are also presented by the Griffith Foundation on the fundamentals of risk management and insurance. The length of the state seminars and the number of subjects covered vary from state to state. Those states that have term limits may find it particularly beneficial to have an education seminar that accelerates the learning process on this topic because of the number of related policy issues that typically come before a state legislature.
